Fragrance Diffuser Oils
From LoveToKnow Candles
Fragrance diffuser oils are a great way to add scent and fragrance to a home and make a practical alternative to scented candles.
Create Ambience and Atmosphere
Fragrance is a good way to help give ambiance and atmosphere to a home. It can also be used to mask other smells and odors. Fragrances can be tailored to an individual room, therefore it is quite common for a different fragrance to be used in the bathroom to that used in the bedroom. There are many ways of bringing fragrance into the home. While we may think of scented candles as being a traditional form of home fragrance, the use of natural products such as flowers and leaves to bring fragrance to a home stretches back through many centuries and in many cultures.
Leaves and flowers have either been dried and used as potpourri or in scented sachets, or distilled into an oil which releases the pure fragrance over time. These are known as essential oils and are made from natural ingredients. There are synthetic alternatives that have been developed and these are known as fragrance oils. There are many ways of using oils to add scent to the home and one way that is growing in popularity is the use of oils with diffusers.
What are Fragrance Diffuser Oils?
Fragrance diffuser oils have been formulated specifically for use with fragrance diffusers. Diffuser oils are available with both essential oils and synthetic fragrance oils. The use of reeds as a fragrance diffuser is a very traditional form of fragrance diffusing and one that has recently been rediscovered. Diffuser oils are perfect for using with fragrance reeds as the carrier oil, which is the oil that the essential oil or synthetic fragrance oil has been blended with, has been specially formulated to carry the oils through the reed. This means that the reeds give a constant fragrance which lasts for several weeks or months.
Unlike scented candles or home fragrance burners, which need constant monitoring when lit, or candle warmers which are reliant on an electricity supply to generate the warmth to heat the candle, fragrance oil diffusers such as reeds can be placed anywhere in the home and simply left to diffuse fragrance. This makes them a great option for busy families or for rooms where there is a lot of traffic. They are also a good option for houses with young children or pets.
Buying Diffuser Oils
Diffuser oils can be purchased in a number of ways. The oils are often sold along with fragrance reeds. The lid of the oil bottle or jar has been designed so that the reeds can simply be pushed into the oil without the need to decant the oil to a separate container. This is a very convenient way of using fragrance diffuser oil and the bottle or jar is simply disposed of when the oil has been dispersed. Diffuser oils are also available in refill jars and these are perfect for topping up diffusers. The larger refill sizes often represent good value for money.
Essential or Fragrance Oils?
Diffuser oils are available with both essential and synthetic fragrance oils. The choice is a very personal one and while some people will never use anything other than natural essential oils in their home, other people prefer the variety and longevity of synthetic fragrance oils. Natural essential oils are often used in aromatherapy and there are many blends that have been created that make the most of the healing power of fragrance. Likewise, there are many blends of synthetic fragrance oils which accurately mimic natural scents and a wide range of other fragrances. Synthetic fragrance oils have the advantage of being specially formulated and developed for home fragrance purposes, therefore are often stronger and longer lasting than some essential oils. They can also be much cheaper than many essential oils.
Fragrance diffuser oils are perfect for using around the house. They are a convenient way to spread fragrance around the home and a wonderful way to create a unique ambiance in your home.
